My family is traveling for the first time to Disney with my 5y old with PDD NOS and a 2 year old. Any suggestions in terms of foods? Can he follow his GFCF diet with the DIning Plan? Any tips to enjoy all the parks? Thanks.

Hi Yadira! Congratulations on your family's first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! Your children will absolutely fall in love with the magic! I can certainly understand your concern regarding your son's Gluten-Free Casein-Free diet while traveling. However, you will not experience any difficulty maintaining his diet while on Disney property. He will be able to enjoy his favorites foods and even discover new favorites, such as the famous Mickey Waffles, specially made just for him! Here's what you do:
    1. Contact SpecialDiets@disneyworld.com and ask for a Guest Allergy/Dietary Request Form.
    2. Make Advanced Dining Reservations (ADR) by calling (407) WDW-DINE or book online. Be sure to note allergy to wheat and dairy on each ADR.
    3. Fill out the Guest Allergy/Dietary Request Form. Include date, time, and ADR Confirmation number for each table service restaurant you book.
    4. Forward the completed Guest Allergy/Dietary Request Form to Special Diets.
    5. Be sure to alert the staff at the restaurant about your son's diet. Many times the chef on duty will come to your table to go over the meal options available at the restaurant.
    6. In order to make informed decisions at counter service locations, simply request the "ingredients list book" and/or talk to the manager on duty about your son's dietary needs.

Once you arrive on Disney property visit Guest Relations at any of the four theme parks. There you will be able to obtain a Guest Assistance Card (GAC). For more information about GACs and how to use them, please read HERE. Let me know if I can answer any other questions for you. This is the year of making memories at the Walt Disney World Resort. May your family enjoy making many lasting memories together!
