Hi! My family and I will be traveling on the Fantasy on May 17, returning May 24. We purchased the transport by DCL back to MCO on disembarkation day. How much later in the day should I book our return flight home? I have a 200 pm option and a 400 pm.ty

    Ahoy, Michelle!

Thank you for stopping by the Moms Panel with your question.  Really nice to have those 2 options of flights available for you and your family.  You're planning this vacation so nicely and sounds like you've got a great convenient plan so far with disembarkation day and doing the seamless ground transfer via Disney Cruise Transportation back to MCO!

Any of the flights in the early afternoon (after 1pm) will give you more than enough time to get yourself to the MCO airport from the cruise terminal. Make sure that you have a plentiful breakfast at your assigned dining area that morning. Our family is never in a hurry to leave the Disney Cruise ship.  We usually have the late seating for meals, which means we have our breakfast at around 8am on debarkation day.  We will have some hand carry items with us, which makes us all move a little slower.  The elevators might be a challenge that morning, so take the extra time for that -- or take the stairs to the dining area. After breakfast, you will gather your items and head to the gangway. Most of the time, there will be a line exiting, some folks might even be taking some farewell pictures with the crew at the exit.

On our last cruise, we took our time once again and we boarded the motor coach at around 9:30am.  We may have been one of the last families to leave.... again. The motor coach will take you to MCO and drop you off after an hour of travel time from the cruise terminal.  By then, you should be able to check in for a 2:00 pm flight. You'll want to go through security right after, since the lines at MCO's security/TSA tend to be long.

I hope this info helps. By the way, tears are optional when bidding Captain Mickey, "see ya real soon!"

    Have a great trip!
