My family will be traveling to DWR, staying at BCR 8/21 - 8/26. What dining experiences or restaurants would you recommend for a nine year old boy?

    Hi Trudy:

For dining, your son may be interested in a character meal at Chef Mickeys, Cape May Café, or 'Ohana. Other great fun favorites my sons enjoy include: Biergarten (all-you-can consume German-style buffet with polka music and a dance floor); 50's Prime Time Café (American comfort food and fun service in a period setting); Whispering Canyon Café (Old West themed family-style restaurant); Raglan Road (modern twist on traditional Irish pub food); T-REX Café (dinosaur-themed family restaurant with a large menu); and Coral Reef (fun experience for kids (and adults) where you can dine in front of stunning underwater views).

If you are thinking of a dinner show, try the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. Hoop-Dee-Doo is a wonderful family experience, plus you get dinner too. The show is entertaining, the cast is talented, the atmosphere is festive, the jokes are plentiful (and corny), and the food is finger-licking tasty. Hoop-Dee-Doo is a vaudeville-style dinner show with a country twist. Dinner is served family style and includes favorites like fried chicken, smoked bbq pork ribs, fresh corn bread, strawberry shortcake and the most delicious country-style baked beans I have ever tasted.

    Enjoy your vacation.
