Hi. My family and I will be traveling to Disney World in June by car. I was wondering if we are able to bring in our cooler to our room. We will be staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge - Kidani Village. Thank you!

Thank you for your question, Nadine, and welcome to planDisney!

Your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort is quickly approaching; you must be excited! Waking up to enjoy coffee on your balcony with a view of African wildlife grazing the savanna will be equally exciting and magical. Some of my planDisney friends recently enjoyed a stay at the same Disney Resorts Collection hotel, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village, and shared some beautiful pictures that gave me serious FOMO (Fear of Missing Out).

To answer your question, you are welcome to bring your cooler from your car into your room to keep things cool throughout your stay, but pending the room you booked, you may not need one. The Resort, Water, and Savanna View rooms will all have a beverage cooler to keep your drinks cool. The Value and Deluxe Studios feature small refrigerators that accommodate drinks, staple items, and some leftovers. The 1-, 2-, and 3-Bedroom Villas will all feature full-sized refrigerators just like home.

Nadine, did you know you can also bring food and drinks to the Theme Parks? My family takes advantage of this luxury, so our son with an allergy will always have a snack available that we know is safe for those times when we are on the move between parks. As long as your items don’t require Cast Members to heat or keep them cool, there are no glass containers, and the drinks do not contain alcohol, you can pack whatever you need!

As much as I recommend packing some snacks and your Resort Refillable Mug for your trips to the parks, I’d be remiss to mention how excellent the dining options are throughout the Disney World Resort. Much like the giraffes grazing the savanna outside your resort room door, I, too, like to graze throughout my stay. I prefer snacking all day to sit-down meals to sample as much as possible. Some of my recommendations include the Sweet-and-Spicy Chicken-Waffle Sandwich at Sleepy Hollow in the Magic Kingdom, School Bread from Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe in EPCOT, Bao Buns (Cheeseburger Steamed Pods) from Satu’li Canteen in Animal Kingdom, and the Lunch Box Tarts from Woody’s Lunch Box in Hollywood Studios.

If you have additional vacation planning questions, Nadine, please visit us again at planDisney. I would be happy to share some extra recommendations or answer any questions!

    See you real soon,
    Brent
