My family will be traveling to Disney World, checking in to the Polynesian Resort on December 18, 2020. If we arrive early in the day, before 4:00 check in, can we leave our luggage with the front desk so that we can go to the park for that day?

    Hi Judy!

Welcome to planDisney! I’m so happy to hEAR you have a holiday vacation at Walt Disney World on the calendar and that you are staying at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. This is my sentimental favorite place to stay at Walt Disney World. Some of my earliest Disney vacation memories are filled with Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show, riding the Walt Disney World Monorail over to the Magic Kingdom, and being able to see Cinderella Castle across the Seven Seas Lagoon. Those memories became part of what I wanted when I had kids, and our fondest vacations just had to include ‘Ohana wishes and DOLE Whip® dreams.

Unlike the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland, you won’t be too late for that very important date you have in the parks once you arrive! Feel free to drop your luggage at the Bell Services if your room is not ready. It is customary to tip when you return to pick up the bags, so be sure to have some cash for that. But I absolutely agree with your plan to ditch the luggage and then head out to spend all the time you can either in the parks or over at Disney Springs.

With the ease of Online Check-In, Guests will be notified with room information as soon as it’s ready. Disney will send a text or email, and using your MagicBands or the Unlock Door feature on your phone, you could skip the front desk entirely! Even the Queen of Hearts would agree that’s pretty cool.

Believe me, this year may seem like a WONDERLAND, but you can stay calmer than the Mad Hatter by simply relying on all the information shared about operational updates, resorts, and the Disney Park Pass system. Another wonderful way to stay in the know is to keep checking the Disney Parks Blog

If you are “curiouser and curiouser’’ about more aspects of your Walt Disney World vacation, please feel free to jump in the planDisney rabbit hole again! We always smile bigger than the Cheshire Cat every time a new question comes our way. Wishing you a wonderful vacation at the Most Magical Place on Earth!
