Hi Jaime,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you for bringing this question to us! I am pleased to greet a fellow North Carolinian!
The Walt Disney World Resort offers a variety of
Services for Guests with Disabilities. You might find the
Guide for Guests with Mobility Disabilities helpful. It provides information on ride and attraction access, wheelchair and Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV) rentals as well as transportation information. Cast members will make every effort to accommodate your party on the same transportation. Although I cannot guarantee that there will not be any challenges, I have never seen a guest not accommodated on a bus.
If you have park hopper tickets, I would also suggest that you review the
Express Transportation Option. With this option, guests have direct bus access between theme parks with entrance to the parks inside the main gates. We have not tried it yet, but I believe it would save you time. My husband has difficulty walking but does not yet require a scooter or wheelchair. Part of our struggle is just getting to the transportation drop-off and pick-up points.
One last note - find some way to clearly mark your scooters so that you can spot them from a distance. The parks can get crowded and some scooters look alike!
Remember to make a note of the disability on your resort hotel reservation. This note will alert cast members and they will respond accordingly.
Honestly, I would not worry. Cast members have been especially helpful to my husband each time we visit and I am certain they will do the same for you. I trust that you will have a magical time Jaime!
