My family will be traveling to Disney in June & considering staying at the Coronado resort. We will be traveling with 2 small children (6 & 4) and my elderly mom. Can you suggest a building or an alternate hotel with short walks to the bus stops

    Hi there Terrie!

Congratulations on your plans to visit the Walt Disney World Resort in June!

Coronado Springs is indeed a bit of an expansive resort, so I'm glad you stopped in to ask about best locations to stay in. When you make your Magic Your Way Vacation package booking or resort only reservation, I'd highly recommend that you consider reserving a 'preferred' room location. This will help to ensure that your assigned room will be closer to the resort's amenities and ensure shorter walks for your mom. Be sure to also call in and have a note placed on your file indicating that your mom is elderly and you'd like to request a ground floor room (if this is also something you'd find helpful). Call in at (407) 939-7675 to make your reservation or after setting up your own reservation through the Walt Disney World Website.

Best building locations to 'request' at the time of your reservation would be Cabanas Building 9B or Casitas Building 1. These two are closest to the resort's dining amenities and main bus depot. If you'd prefer to be nearer the pool and play areas and utilize the resort's internal shuttle to reach dining, requesting Cabanas 8A would be your best bet.

If you're not set on Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, perhaps consider an alternate resort property that is smaller overall. My top pick for short walks and proximity of all buildings to the pool, bus stops and dining would be Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. This resort is my hands-down favourite moderate resort property at Walt Disney World. I've included a link so that you can check it out and see for yourself what you think.

I hope these tips help with your planning Terrie.
Wishing you a simply Magical time at Walt Disney World!
