Hiya Heather,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thanks for POPPING by with your delicious question. My family loves
Walt Disney World Resort popcorn (we’re pretty positive it’s sprinkled with buttery pixie dust), so I do have a few kernels of knowledge about making the most out of your souvenir popcorn bucket.
First things first: the bucket itself. Disney has been outdoing themselves lately with it comes to popcorn bucket design – on my last visit, I actually purchased two buckets so I could send one to a friend. (Okay, and we totally munched double the popcorn all week too, so it was a win-win!) Looking at your dates, there’s a chance you might find a spooky
Halloween design in Magic Kingdom Park, and you may find different designs in the various theme parks. These popcorn bucket purchases are valid for length of stay, and you’ll be able to refill them at any theme park at the refill price.
This brings me to strategy: make sure you POP that bucket into your backpack or stroller every day, Heather. My family notoriously forgets our popcorn bucket in the resort hotel room, and then we’re all super sad that we can’t get refills throughout the day. Don’t be like us. The buckets have a detachable handle and lid, making it really easy to hook onto your bag strap or stroller handle.
And now for the golden, buttery topping. Not only is Walt Disney World’s popcorn truly delicious, but there are some locations that offer flavored versions. In
Epcot, stop by the cart near
Journey Into Imagination with Figment – when I was there this spring, they were offering Sour Cream & Chive, Buffalo Bleu Cheese, and Cheddar Cheese (pro tip: ask for a mix of two flavors for maximum yum). Over in the World Showcase, stop by the
Canada Pavilion’s popcorn cart for a taste of maple popcorn. So good! These flavored varieties are currently the same cost as a classic refill.
Heather, enjoy every salty, crunchy, delicious kernel of popcorn on your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World! Since we’re talking food, I have to point you in the direction of the all the
foodie fun on the Disney Parks Blog. As I count down to my visits to The Most Magical Place on Earth, I love to keep a to-taste list so I can be sure to get my fill of magical and Mickey-shaped snacks and treats. Have fun with your counting down and final planning, and please pop on back if we can answer any more questions.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
