    My family is traveling to Disney in April 2018. I see that we are able to make dinner reservations 180 days prior to our stay. However, I don't see that we are able to reserve dinner and a show dining packages. When will we be able to do that?

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am delighted that you brought this question to us! 

    I am so sorry that I cannot provide more specific information at this time. The dining package release dates vary by dining package and are often not available at the 180-day mark. On our last trip, I was able to make them about three months prior. We did the Rivers of Light Dining Package at Tusker House restaurant and the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade Dining Package at Tony's Town Square restaurant. Both dining packages were fantastic with great food and terrific viewing locations.

    Before making the dining package reservation for Rivers of Light, I made a regular reservation at Tusker House restaurant just to be sure we had a reservation. Once the dining packages opened for booking, I cancelled the regular reservation. With the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade Dining package, I will say that we had to wait about 20 minutes for the parade to reach our viewing area, but once it did, it was great. Several of the characters and other performers waved directly at our girls and two of them even spoke to the girls!

    For both dining packages, we received printed tickets at the meal. We had to show these tickets to get access to the viewing areas. I also suggest that you get to the viewing area a little early. We arrived at 8:00 p.m. for the 8:15 p.m. Rivers of Light Show and were able to get three seats on the end of the third row!
