Carla from VALENCIA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Me and my family (4 in total, 2 children and 2 adults) want to visit Disneyland Park next year 2026. My son will be 9 years old and my daughter 4. We are from Valencia, in Spain. 1. When is the best date to travel there? We have more than just 1 question.

Hello Carla, and a very warm welcome to planDisney! What a joy it is for me to be a part of your vacation planning to visit the Happiest Place on Earth! I am thrilled for your family to experience the magic of Disneyland Resort.

We have a lot to discuss, and I do have a few suggestions for you, but first I need to sincerely say: Any day is a great day to visit Disneyland! Guests (me!) keep coming back time and time again because there's always something fun and special going on, no matter the time of year! But I'm going to share with you a few considerations to help you decide when might be the perfect time for your family.

If one of your priorities is keeping costs low, I suggest looking at flight and hotel options now to compare what the prices might be at different times of the year. If dates don't go out that far yet, use 2025 dates to get an idea.

If it's important to you to consider the weather, Southern California has, in my opinion, pretty ideal temperatures most of the year. However, July, August, and September will likely be the hottest and the coolest (and most rainy) months will be December, January, and February, with March sneaking in there too. But don't let that scare you, it's still not that cold.

If you'd prefer to visit Disneyland when crowds tend to be at their lowest, then you'll need to know that the busiest time at Disneyland Resort is late March through mid-April, followed closely by December 25 through January 1. October is also extremely popular (Halloween season!) and can be very busy. The slowest period of the year is from early August through late September, with the next slowest in early January through mid-February, and early March. Lately, however, sometimes it doesn't feel like there's ever truly a "low" season.

If special events and entertainment are important to you, consider these happenings at Disneyland Resort:
    • Beginning May 26, 2025, and continuing all the way through summer of 2026 is Disneyland's 70th Celebration! With limited-time entertainment, colorful decorations, and so much more, this is the party of the decade! I'm especially looking forward to the return of fan-favorite Paint the Night Parade!
    • From mid-January through mid-February, Disney California Adventure Park celebrates Lunar New Year and it's one of my family's favorite times of year to visit Disneyland. With fun festivities, special appearances from Disney pals, and innovative menus, it delights Guests of all ages.
    • The Halloween season (end of August through the end of October) is frightfully fun with entertainment, themed attractions (including Haunted Mansion Holiday), and the best After Dark Event (in my opinion), Oogie Boogie Bash
    • And, of course, we must mention the Holidays at Disneyland, beginning in mid-November and into early January. Disneyland will certainly sparkle in all the magical ways.
I hope this information has been helpful, Carla! And please stop by again with more questions! There's so much more to talk about!

    See you real soon,
    McCayla
