Our family took a Disney Cruise over New Year Eve in 2001. Now our 4 kids are married and have kids of their own. We’d like to begin planning a cruise over New Years 2022/2023...approximately 23 months from now. Where do we start in planning this?

    Ahoy Mike!

So happy that you are planning to ring in the New Year with an adventure at sea with your whole family. I’d say you are long overdue for another Disney cruise, now to be shared with your kids AND grandkids. Disney cruises are truly memory making magic at its very best!

Once Disney Cruise Line announces the itineraries for the rest of 2022, you will want to book your cruise as early as possible to ensure the best rates. If past history is any indication, I anticipate that the New Year’s Eve sailing you’d like will be released sometime in early summer (June-July). Then again, this year has been anything but typical, so keep a weather eye on the Disney Parks Blog for up-to-date information about when they plan to release those itineraries.

Traveling with your buccaneer crew is going to be quite jolly! For starters, once your specific cruise appears on the booking horizon, contact Disney Cruise Line or a Travel Agent to make reservations for multiple staterooms. A Disney Cruise Line Vacation Planning Specialist can reserve all the staterooms for your party and link the reservations together

Here's what makes a Disney cruise so special: there is truly something for everyone! It's not just a trip that caters exclusively to adults or is geared just to kids. It is a wonderful blend of relaxation and fun, no matter the Guest's age. While your family may decide to do different activities during the day, meal times during rotational dining are the perfect times to reunite and share the day’s adventures together. Captain Mickey will do his best to accommodate requests in the dining room and to seat parties together as they proudly present your dinner! Depending on the number of pirates in your party, you may have multiple tables, but it can be coordinated that all the tables are close together.

Finally, every pirate needs a trusty compass while at sea, and good news: yours can be on your phone! Simply download your “compass” in the form of the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. This app will prove vital to keeping tabs on all the onboard activities and entertainment. I love the feature where I can favorite an activity and the app will send me a reminder about its start time!

Raise the Jolly Roger and send planDisney a message in a bottle if you have more cruise planning questions. We are happy to steer you in the right direction for your swashbuckling adventure at sea.

    Happy Sailing!
