My family and I are thinking about visiting the World the end of April or the first week of May. Planning gets so much harder as the kids grow up! Is there anything special/extra going at at that time that would make the parks crowded, even at WWof sports

    Hi Melissa,

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You must be excited with your vacation just around the corner.

You've chosen a great time to travel to the Walt Disney World Resort. The weather should be lovely, the crowds are typically very manageable and you can enjoy one of my favorite seasonal events, Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival!

By visiting Walt Disney World at the end of April or beginning of May, your vacation falls in that window of time after spring break ends, but before summer break starts. In my opinion, it's one of the best times to visit!

I can tell you that Expedition Everest Challenge, a runDisney event, is taking place the first weekend in May. This may increase crowds at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park and ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex during the weekend. However, you may find the challenge to be something you would enjoy experiencing together as a family!

Also, Star Wars Weekends is currently slated to return to Disney's Hollywood Studios each weekend from May 15 – June 14, 2015. This annual event typically draws many excited fans.

I suggest keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for future event announcements as you narrow down your Walt Disney World vacation dates. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask!
