Hi Moms! My family is thinking about planning a trip to Walt Disney World. The only problem is, we have an 11 year son and a 17 daughter, and I'm worried that Walt Disney World won't have anything for their age category! Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi Michaela, The most wonderful thing about a Disney World vacation is that there's truly something for everyone. In fact, there are many things for people of all ages to enjoy!

I read your question & right away I wanted to share my experiences with you. We've been bringing our 5 kids to Disney for years. On our last family vacation (last April) they were: daughter-17, son-13, son-8, daughter-6 and daughter-4. We'll be heading down again this Fall & can't wait. I'll answer this question from the standpoint of my oldest 2 kids.

My children are all thrill ride seekers & Disney has many awesome rides. Their favorites? Hollywood Studios: Rock 'n' Rollercoaster & Tower of Terror. Animal Kingdom: Expedition Everest & Kali River Rapids. Epcot: Test Track & Misson: Space.  Magic Kingdom: Space Mountain, Splash Mountain & Thunder Mountain.

My teens also really enjoy the Water Parks. I'd plan on a day (each) at Typhoon Lagoon & Blizzard Beach if I were you. I think your Resort choice is a big factor as well, perhaps show your kids the various on-site choices & let them pick. My oldest 2 rate Beach Club as their absolute favorite because of the amazing pool.

There are a lot of "extra" fun things that your teens can do. For example, you can rent the Sea Raycers boats (driven by ages 12 and up). Your son would likely thoroughly enjoy Disneyquest arcade at Downtown Disney. Another suggestion that I have are the various Tours. My oldest daughter did the Dolphins in Depth Tour and she loved it. See: HERE. There are many different Tours available.

I hope this gives you some ideas & I'm more than happy to answer any other questions that you may have. I hope you and your family are able to experience the Magic of Disney together! Kaylene
