My Family in I were thinking about going in April the week during Easter. Is it not a good time to go? How Busy is it? Would May be a better time?

Hi Nikki! Easter week is a very popular time to visit Walt Disney World since many children are out of school for the holiday. My family visited Disney World this past Easter, and while the parks were very busy, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the crowds were not as bad as I'd expected.

The key to having a great Disney vacation during a time of peak attendance levels is to plan ahead. If you're visiting around Easter, you'll definitely want to make dining reservations so you don't find yourself being turned away at restaurants or facing long waits for a table. Disney's Fastpass is also a great way to cut the time you spend waiting in line. You'll want to take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours reserved just for Disney park guests, and it's crucial to arrive at the parks each day before they open and head to the most popular attractions first. When my family visited last Easter, we set the alarm every morning so that we could get to the parks before they opened. During peak weeks like Easter, the parks extend their hours so on many mornings we were leaving our resort room when it was still dark outside, and on a few occasions, I found myself in line for Space Mountain at 7 a.m. before I'd even had my morning coffee. If your family is willing to get up and going early in the morning, you'll be able to experience lots of attractions with minimal waiting.

If this visit is your first Disney World vacation or you don't want to get up early or take the time to plan your park and dining schedule, then you might prefer visiting in May when the attendance levels in the parks are much lower.
