Hi there, Carleigh, and welcome to planDisney! I couldn't be happier that you're here today with this awesome question about your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort with your family! It sounds like your family is a fun crew!
Carleigh, I highly recommend taking a look at the
Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules. Scroll down to the Guest Courtesy and Attire Policies section and carefully read about the type of attire that is and isn't allowed within the
Disney Theme Parks. The policy clearly states that costumes may not be work by Guests ages 14 or older. There is also this section that you'll want to consider: "We reserve the right to deny admission to or remove any person wearing attire that we consider inappropriate or attire that could detract from the experience of other Guests."
Not only can costumes be distracting, they can become cumbersome to the person who is wearing it during a long and busy day at a theme park. I always recommend dressing comfortably and wearing layers if the weather is on the chillier side. Grab a rain jacket or a poncho if rain is in the forecast, and make sure you're wearing comfortable shoes that you've already broken in ahead of time!
I love traveling to the Most Magical Place on Earth during the fall because the weather is typically more mild, but you can usually still head over to the pool to relax on a warm afternoon. The holiday season will be in full swing and you'll just love all of the beautiful decorations!
Carleigh, I hope this is helpful to you as you continue to plan your visit. Please stop back by
planDisney with any other questions you have as you count down to your arrival!
See you real soon!
Jennifer
