Hi Connie!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm thrilled to hEAR that your family is planning a high-seas adventure aboard Disney Cruise Line! I'll never forget the feeling I had stepping onboard our first Disney Cruise! Hopefully, this will be the first of many voyages your family takes with Captain Mickey.
You're doing exactly what I would have advised first: begin the planning process early! You will get the best stateroom availability and rates the sooner you book a future voyage. I also recommend choosing an itinerary with at least one day at sea for your first cruise. I think your family might love having a full day to enjoy all that the ship has to offer, or just sit back and relax on deck, without stopping at a port of call. I would choose an itinerary lasting between four and seven nights. You won't go wrong with any of the four beautiful cruise ships within the
Disney Cruise Line Fleet! As to your stateroom choice, my family loves sailing in a stateroom with a verandah. For your pirate crew of four, I recommend taking a look at the Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah.
One of my favorite steps in the planning process is selecting
Port Adventures through Disney Cruise Line. It's the perfect way to "sea" the culture and beauty of each port of call. Once you've chosen an itinerary, I recommend taking a look at the Port Adventures and making a list of your top three for each destination. Then, when your
advance booking window opens, you'll be ready to book all the fun ashore!
Connie, I feel like I've only skimmed the surface! If you have any more questions while you plan for your inaugural voyage, please come back and visit us again!
