    my family and i are taking our twin girls that are 7 for the first time to wdw in oct, we are going to be attending the not so scary halloween, we are wondering what is all involved with that, and things to do besides the fireworks and the parade

    Hi Jodie,

    Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) is one of my favorite events at the Magic Kingdom!

    MNSSHP is held 7:00 p.m. to midnight on select evenings. Although they haven't released the schedule for the parades & fireworks for the 2011 dates, here is the schedule from the 2010 dates:

    * Mickey's "Boo-to-You" Halloween Parade: 8:15 p.m. & 10:30 p.m.
    * Happy HalloWishes Fireworks: 9:30 p.m.
    * Disney's Villains Mix & Mingle: 7:45 p.m., 8:50 p.m., 10:05 p.m. & 11:15 p.m.
    * Special Disney Character Appearances 7:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.
    * Trick-or-Treating throughout the party
    * Character Dance Parties throughout the party

    Most of the popular rides are open. Here are the rides that were open during the 2010 dates:

    * Swiss Family Treehouse
    * Pirates of the Caribbean
    * Magic Carpets of Aladdin
    * Splash Mountain
    * Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
    * Haunted Mansion
    * Hall of Presidents
    * Peter Pan
    * Carrousel
    * Dumbo
    * Mickey's PhilharMagic
    * Snow White's Scary Adventures
    * Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
    * Tomorrowland Speedway
    * Astro Orbiter
    * Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
    * PeopleMover
    * Space Mountain
    * Stitch's Great Escape
    * Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor

    There are tons of awesome character meet & greets throughout the park including some that only come out for special occasions. Be sure to pick up a MNSSHP PhotoPass.

    Pick up an official MNSSHP Guide when you enter the MK to confirm this year's schedule of events. In the past, I've seen the special event maps posted on unofficial Disney websites within hours of the first night of the event.

    Kids & adults are encouraged to get in the spirit & dress up. Wishing you many spooktacular memories :-) Allison
