My family and I are taking a trip to WDW in April 2012.Should we get a dining plan?our daughter has food allergies so I wasn't sure if a quick service plan would be doable.Do Quickservice places have allergy menus? Is it cheaper to get a plan or pay/meal?

    Hi April,

Congratulations on your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World!  You will be happy to know that Disney Dining offers some of the best options for those with food allergies that my family has ever encountered!

My niece has severe food allergies, to dairy, tree nuts, and she also used to be allergic to eggs, though she now tolerates them okay.  So, my sister and I have researched the options available to her all over Walt Disney World.

The Disney Dining Plan has always proven to save us money whenever we use it.  We have tried to do the dining thing on our own many times, shopping for groceries, etc...but we always find that we enjoy ourselves more when we take advantage of all of the wonderful dining options available in Disney, and use the Dining Plans to make it more convenient and affordable.

The chefs at all of the Table Service restaurants are very accommodating.  They will come to the table, find out our needs, and then let us know what foods are safe for her to eat, and offer to create something specific to her liking if needed.  We have never been disappointed, and in fact we are often amazed at their creativity and dedication to providing excellence to ALL of their guests.

The quick service options are a little bit trickier, but doable.  Within the parks you will find these lines are often long and crowded.  So, even though special requests are accommodated, it might take a little longer to get it done.  My niece was usually the last one to get her food, but it was always cooked to her needs and liking, and the cast members were always very kind about making allowances for her needs.

I hope this information is helpful as you make your decision!
