Me and my family are taking a 12-night cruise on the disney magic this july, leaving from Dover, we are planning to visit paris after the cruise so I have to buy train tickets from London to Paris, which schedule do you suggest I buy my tickets? thank you

What an awesome vacation you are counting down to, Eva!

My family and I enjoyed this same itinerary and we had a blast... there is just so much to experience in culture-rich Europe. This is an adventure that you'll find yourself talking about for several years to come - we still do.

The estimated arrival back at the Port of Dover is about 9:30 am. This should allow you time to have breakfast onboard as well as say goodbye to your onboard crew. Allow some time to go through baggage claim and customs, then boarding your ground transportation back to London. The ride back from the port to London might take a couple of hours depending on traffic. I remember everyone on our motorcoach pretty much dozed off for most of the ride. We had an airport drop off, so we needed to plan for another transfer after that... you will want to check with the Disney Cruise Line ground transportation (if you are using them) on the drop off points that will work for you. To allow enough time to get from the drop off point to your train station, it might be better to take a mid to late afternoon train schedule. This will give you some time to even grab lunch once you are back in London, before doing the 2+ hour long train ride from London to Paris.

I tend to buffer my travel time in between transfers by at least a couple of hours, just in case - this has worked for me when we travel with kids to international destinations. You never know who needs to do an extra bathroom break, or some sort of other delay. After a long vacation at sea, the stress can pounce back at you very quickly if you are rushing to get from point A to B. So, allow wiggle room in your schedule if at all possible.

I hope this helps, Eva. Happy planning!

    Bon voyage,
