My family will be taking our 1st family vaction to WDW June 24-30th 2012. We have a 9 y/o dghter and 15 y/o son. We are staying at ASMR. We purchased the MYW ticket w/Water Park and More option. What do you recommend to make the most of our vacation?

    Hi Rachel!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel!

It sounds like a great vacation already!  I have two boys, ages 12 and 7, and they love to spend a lot of time at both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach.  They both also love all of the theme parks.  I recommend the following schedule:

    • Magic Kingdom - All Day
    • Typhoon Lagoon in the Morning / Disney's Animal Kingdom in the Afternoon
    • Disney's Hollywood Studios - All Day
    • Epcot
    • Blizzard Beach
    • Return to your favorite theme park

Of course, you may have to move things around to accommodate the weather, though it doesn't rain that much in June usually!  Disney's Animal Kingdom is definitely a park that you can visit in the afternoon as many guests generally leave in the afternoon.  Just be sure to check out the park hours to see what time the park will be closing before you go.

Some people don't think Disney's Hollywood Studios is an all day park, but I disagree.  You need to get to Disney's Hollywood Studios first thing in the morning if you want to get on Toy Story Midway Mania without a very long wait, as it is an extremely popular attraction.  Also, if your youngest daughter has any interest in fighting Darth Vader then you also have to sign up for the Jedi Training Academy first thing in the morning.  Fantasmic! is a must do for every guest and it is the nighttime spectacular in the park, thus making Disney's Hollywood Studios an all day affair.

Good luck with your planning, and please write back with more questions!
