Hi there, Daniel, and welcome to planDisney! What a special visit you have coming up with your family! There's no better place, in my opinion, to experience the magic of family and togetherness than the Happiest Place on Earth. I'm so excited for you!
Thanks for stopping by with this great question about
Lightning Lanes! My family loves to zip past those standby lines on popular attractions, so we can experience more on our visit to Disneyland. You've got a good plan. To answer your question, Daniel, Guests 3-years-old and older require, not only, their own theme park ticket and park reservation but also their own Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass, as it will be attached to their ticket.
When you go to book a Lightning Lane in the
Disneyland app, you'll have the option to select the members in your party who would like to be included in that particular attraction. Each pass is separate, so anyone in your party can do any Lightning Lane attraction they want - and can even split up! My family does this all the time, especially when my boys were young and met different height requirements. My husband and I can each take a child on an attraction they are excited about and meet back up after.
As soon as you enter the park, use the Tip Board in the Disneyland app to choose a Lightning Lane Multi Pass attraction and book the next available time to ride it. Make a reservation for one attraction at a time (for each person) OR after two hours have passed, whichever comes first.
TIP: I suggest you set yourself a reminder on your phone to make sure you reserve a Lightning Lane every two hours! This way you'll maximize your Lightning Lane Multi Pass and experience more on your Disneyland day, because you'll be stacking up those Lightning Lanes!
If you haven't booked your theme park tickets yet, I recommend you include the Lightning Lane Multi Passes with your park tickets at the time of purchase. This will lock in the lowest rate and ensure that you won't have to worry about purchasing the passes upon entering the parks.
Daniel, I sincerely hope you have the most magical visit with your family. If your 4-year-old is anything like mine were at that age, they will especially adore Cars Land and meeting Disney Pals! Remember that the Disneyland app is a wonderful resource to locate meet and greets for your favorite Disney Pals! From the park map in the app, locate the "Characters" icon at the top. Explore the park finding characters in various locations or click "Show List" in the bottom righthand corner to see all the pals who are available to meet, and where and when you can find them! This is especially handy if you have a particular pal you would like to meet, like Mickey Mouse himself!
There's so much more I'd love to share, Daniel, like great spots to take a break with kids and food recommendations for even the pickiest of eaters, so please feel free to stop by again and
ask me another question! I'm always happy to chat about Disneyland.
Warmest wishes,
McCayla
