My family is taking my daughter to Disney for her first time as a birthday present in May 2017 (I plan way ahead). I wanted to wait until taxes come back to pay for the trip but was wondering if I could make dinning reservations before I buy the tickets?

    Hello, Ryan,

Thank you for sending your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  What a magical birthday present your daughter will be getting this year; and even better, you'll be able to share the experience with her!
If you don't have a Disney reservation made, you will still be able to make dining reservations when you are 180 days out.  For example, if you'd like to make dining reservations on May 17, 2017, you'll be able to make reservations for that day on November 18, 2016.  To make dining reservations for May 18, 2017 you'll be able make reservations for that day on November 19, 2016, and so on.

If by November you have made a room-only Disney resort or Magic Your Way Vacation Package reservation, you'll be able to make 10 days worth of Dining Reservations when you are 180 days out from your arrival date.  This is always a nice way to increase the chances of securing a reservation at the more popular restaurants like Be Our Guest Restaurant and Cinderella's Royal Table. Just make sure your My Disney Experience account is set up with your reservation number, and you can begin making Online Dining Reservations at 6:00 am EST or by phone (407) WDW-DINE at 7:00 am EST.

As you continue to plan your trip, we are happy to continue to help you.  Wishing your daughter an unforgettable birthday!  -Kara
