Hi. Our family is super excited about our upcoming Disney vacation, in December. I was wondering, how's the weather like at that time? And what kind of sweater or jacket do we need? Will a light one do the job, or should we get big bubble-like ones? Thanks

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Alejandra ~

December is a fabulous time to visit the parks and resorts! They are gorgeous all decked out for the Christmas holiday season and you are going to love it.

The weather in December is usually pretty pleasant. The average high temperatures are in the low-70s and average lows in the low-50s. They usually get around 2 inches of rain during the month of December. The humidity is also lower which makes for a nice day. They typically do not get the afternoon thunderstorms in the afternoon like they do in the spring and summer but I throw in ponchos and a small umbrella just in case.

Keep in mind that these are averages. I was there one year in early December and we got a lot of rain. Another year I was there, the temperature dropped into the 20s one morning. That is very rare in Florida but just goes to show you that you never know exactly what the weather is going to do that time of the year. Most of my December trips have been awesome weather wise. I always take a light jacket or sweater for the day and a little heavier one for the nights in December. I like having a little heavier one for strolling through the parks and enjoying all of the beautiful lights. I also like a little heavier one so I'm more comfortable waiting for the evening parade and fireworks. I would recommend checking the forecast right before your trip in case you need to add something (i.e., gloves, hats, or scarfs) during your final packing.
