Hi Andrew,
Three chEARS for your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort. As a former cheerleader, it always makes me smile when the excitement of the D2 Summit comes tumbling into the parks. This exuberance will be a perfect match for
Walt Disney World Resort's 50th Anniversary Celebration, which I'm glad to hear you'll be experiencing as a family.
It appears the packages currently being offered for the D2 Summit include lodging at either one of Disney's All-Star Resorts (unspecified) or
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. These are lovely options, though the standard rooms at each of these resorts sleep up to four adults. You could add one child under the age of three to that; otherwise, the rooms are not set up to accommodate five. Since the registration process is handled by the D2 Summit, I recommend calling the number listed on the bottom of the pricing flyer to see if you'd be able to book two separate rooms/Hotel Travel Packages to accommodate your party size. There should be a way to recommend connecting rooms, as well. It appears another option would be to register your athlete for the Commuter Package, secure separate lodging for your family, and purchase additional tickets using the Discounted Ticket dropdown on the D2 Summit registration site. This might make transportation to the D2 Summit events a challenge, though, and the Commuter Package only comes with a two-day hopper. I'm going to do a flip and revert to my previous recommendation of calling the D2 Summit to see what they recommend for your party of five. My family enjoys the lakeside strolls at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. It would be a great place to relax and unwind after a busy day of competition.
Family means no one gets left behind and I'll be chEARing for a perfect landing on this planning stunt. Once your reservations are secure, come back to planDisney with any questions about planning your Disney days!
Choose magic,
Jennifer
