My family and I will be stopping at animal kingdom for a day on our way to North Carolina from Sarasota. We are towing a 21’ boat. Is there a resort where we could stay, park the truck and trailer, and take a bus or tram to animal kingdom?

    Hello Nick,

Thanks for stopping by to see us here at planDisney!

It's exciting to hear that you're planning to add a stop at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park to your travel plans. There is so much to enjoy at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, and you're sure to have fun with all your explorations.

If you're planning to visit the theme park for the day, I'm happy to share that the theme parks do offer parking for oversized vehicles such as a camper trailer, RV, bus, or tractor trailer. Oversized vehicle parking is currently offered at $30 per day.

If you are looking to make a reservation for a Walt Disney World Resort hotel stay, you'll find that most of the Resorts can accommodate oversized vehicle parking, and that the parking is based on availability. The current pricing for parking varies by the Resort category.

Because you are planning to visit Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, you might want to consider a Resort hotel located in Disney's Animal Kingdom Area such as Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. You can use the "Explore Resort Hotels" search features to quickly enter your travel dates and travel party information, and then search for Resorts with available reservations. If you'd like, you can also call the Walt Disney World Resort at (407)-934-7639 and speak with a Cast Member to book your Resort stay.

As you are making your plans, it's helpful to know that you'll need both valid theme park admission and valid theme park reservations for your theme park visit. It's helpful to check the Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar before purchasing your theme park tickets to see which theme parks have reservations available to select for the day you wish to visit.

After you purchase your theme park tickets, or book your vacation package that combines your Resort hotel stay with your theme park tickets, you can then make your theme park reservations using the Disney Park Pass system. The Disney Park Pass system will guide you through the steps to select your travel party, select your date, and select your theme park. You can then view all your plans in the "My Plans" area of your My Disney Experience account.

Nick, here's wishing you a fun and wonderful visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!

The playful and creative optimism of all things Disney has enthralled me since I was a kid. I loved watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" on Sunday nights, seeing all the live-action and animated classics in theaters, and — of course — visiting "The Most Magical Place on Earth" for the first time 45 years ago. These days, the big kid in me still loves to play Disney. As a long-time Disney destinations vacationer, I'm looking forward to helping you play Disney starting here at planDisney!
