    Our Family will be staying at The Wilderness Resort and attending the Mickeys Backyard BBQ at Fort Wilderness. Is it necessary to take the bus or is it within walking distance? We have 2 children 7 & 10 yrs old. How early should we leave?

    Hi Annette,

    If you are staying at the Wilderness Lodge, there is a trail that will bring you to Fort Wilderness.  You can also take a boat, which is what we usually do.  I would give yourself 30-45 minutes to be safe.  Fort Wilderness is a great resort with a lot to see.  If you happen to get to Fort Wilderness early, your boys can play in a nearby playground or visit the resorts farm.
