We are a family of 4 staying at Wilderness Lodge and then taking a Dream cruise 11/20. Is there an advantage to booking a Disney transfer from the resort to the port versus getting a private town car? I've heard it may be cheaper for a town car.

    Hi Patricia,

What a wonderful vacation you have coming up in November!  I just adore Disney's Wilderness Lodge and the gorgeous new Disney Dream.  Can I come too?

The advantage of arranging ground transfers through Disney Cruise Line (DCL) is the comfort of traveling on a luxurious motorcoach to Port Canaveral.  The bus has comfortable seats, a rest room, and overhead televisions to entertain your family. Ground transfers through DCL also make handling your luggage a breeze as you go from Walt Disney World to your cruise ship.  I've used this service in the past and found it to be fun and delightfully stress-free.

You would likely save money, however, by renting your own vehicle or by arranging for a car service to take your family of four to the Port.  If you are traveling alone or as a couple, ground transfers through DCL are an economical way to get to your Disney cruise.  With a family of four, it will likely be more economical to make other arrangements.  Check prices on a variety of town car services in the Orlando area.  I think you'll find that service from Walt Disney World to Port Canaveral can be quite affordable.

Good luck making your decision and have a truly magical vacation!
