Hey there Chris,
Welcome to planDisney! At the mention of
Disney's Wilderness Lodge, my senses come alive remembering the smell of pine, the sounds of Copland and the majestic charm of that breathtaking lobby. This resort is also home to some of my family's favorite Disney dining options, including the newly reopened
Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White. A
round of golf is always at the top of my husband's
Walt Disney World Resort must-do list, so I understand your family's desire to hit the links while vacationing. Based on proximity to your resort, I recommend teeing off at either
Disney's Palm Golf Course or
Disney's Magnolia Golf Course. Both courses are accessed within the gates of
Shades of Green, an Armed Forces Recreation Center in Walt Disney World Resort. As such, note that entrance to the resort grounds requires a photo ID. Speaking of photos, be sure to get your picture taken with the Mickey Golf Cart located just outside the clubhouse. Of these two courses, Disney's Magnolia Golf Course is home to the world-famous Mickey Mouse bunker. Gotta love those Disney details!
As a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel Guest, you can book your tee time online up to 90 days in advance online or by calling (407) 939-4653. You can get to these courses from Disney's Wilderness Lodge via complimentary Disney transportation (boat to
Magic Kingdom park, boat or monorail to
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, 10-minute walk to Shades of Green - allow approximately 60 minutes total) or by a ride-share service such as Lyft or Uber (additional charges apply).
May your laughs be many and your strokes few on your family golfing adventure, Chris. After working up an appetite, consider feasting on the pulled pork nachos, a personal favorite, at nearby
Captain Cook's.
Fore!
Jennifer
