Hiya, Tina-Louise! Welcome back to planDisney!
Your summer trip will be here before you know it, Tina-Louise! You’re visiting at a great time. My family and I love
Walt Disney World Resort in August. Yes, it is hot and it can rain frequently in the afternoons, but crowds tend to be quite light, and Halloween season is already in full swing!
Walt Disney World Resort has an extensive
complimentary transportation system that includes buses, boats, the
Monorail, and the
Disney Skyliner. In general, any Guest can use the complimentary transportation options across the resort. Having said that, Walt Disney World Swan Hotel, Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel, and Walt Disney World Swan Reserve have their own buses to the theme parks and Disney Springs. You’ll be able to board a bus right near the entrance to the main lobby, and they run approximately every 20 – 25 minutes.
During your stay, if you’re traveling between the parks, you’ll be able to take advantage of Walt Disney World's complimentary transportation options to your heart’s content! For example, you can take the Monorail from EPCOT to the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC), then on to Magic Kingdom Park from there. You can do that route in reverse as well. Or you can take the Disney Skyliner or hop aboard a FriendShip Boat between Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT, and vice versa.
In my opinion, a ride on the Monorail or the Disney Skyliner is an attraction in and of itself! I also love the available boat transportation options around property. There’s something so relaxing about cruising on the water while at Walt Disney World!
I hope this answers your question, Tina-Louise! As of this writing, the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is set to begin on August 27, which means you’ll be arriving just in time to enjoy the opening days of the festival! I highly recommend strolling around the Global Marketplaces while you’re in the park. There are always some great eats and sips to enjoy.
Disney Parks Blog routinely shares a Foodie Guide before the start of each festival. Make sure you check back before you travel!
