    My Family and I will be staying at The All star Music resort Jan 6 - 10. We will be driving to WDW. Would it be better to drive to the parks from the resort each day or ride the bus? Also what is the guest assistance card?

    Hi there, Christy!

    While Disney's complimentary motorcoach transportation is definitely a convenience, I am a firm believer in using your own transportation when available. This allows you levels of freedom that the buses simply do not; while you might have to wait a while for a bus, you never have to wait for your own vehicle.

    Granted, the trade-off is that you'll need to park and get to your Disney Park for the day, and then, on the return trip, you'll need to park your vehicle in your Resort hotel lot, but overall, I love being able to have the car on demand. This is particularly helpful for Guests with children and/or those Guests needing assistance.

    The Guest Assistance Card is a courtesy that Disney extends to its Guests in order to make those with special travel requirements have a comfortable, easy trip. You'll want to visit Guest Relations at any Park on the first day of your trip, and be prepared to discuss the condition and the needs of the Guest requesting the card. Medical documentation is always helpful, but is not necessary.

    The Cast Member will determine the type of assistance required: a shady place to wait in line, use of the wheelchair access at rides, etc. It is not a "line jumping" card, nor does it really offer any reduction in wait times. It's merely a way to provide Guests with comfortable circumstances in which to wait for a ride or attraction, and appropriate means of entering and exiting a ride This is good for six members of a travel party and only needs to be requested once per stay.
