My family and I are staying at the SOG for a week. I was thinking of cutting our stay there to 5 days then transfer to the AK Arusha Savanna view, for the last 3 days for the experience. It will definitely add to our expenses but is it worth it?

    Hi Cecilia!

That's a really hard question and I can't answer it.  What may be worth it to one guest may be a waste of money to another.

I can tell you that the rooms of Shades of Green are much larger than the room at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.  Also, food is generally less expensive at Shades of Green than at Animal Kingdom Lodge.  Everybody I know who stays at Shades of Green absolutely loves it, though that's probably due more to the cost savings than anything else.

I can also tell you that the Animal Kingdom Lodge is fabulous!  It's theming is fantastic.  The pool is a lot of fun and richly themed.  The animals, of course, make this hotel and most guests love it as well.  If you are not sure, you can always visit the lodge for a meal.  Boma is a particularly nice place for a family; my family enjoys both breakfast and dinner there.  Then you will know if you would like to stay there for a future return trip to Walt Disney World.

    Good luck with your decision!
