Our family is staying at Saratoga Springs Resort the first week of January. We made 7:20am reservations for my husband's 50th Birthday at Chef Mickey's. Do the buses run this early? What would be the most efficient way to get there for a party of 6. Thanks

    Hi Joanne,

Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.  Breakfast at Chef Mickey's will be a fabulous way to begin the celebration your husbands 50th birthday!

Disney buses operate one hour before park opening, so chances are that there will not be buses to Magic Kingdom Park early enough to get you to your reservation on time.  The exception would be if Magic Kingdom Park was opening at 7:00 a.m., which is possible with Extra Magic Hours.  If this is the case on the day that you are heading to breakfast, I would suggest that you catch a bus to Magic Kingdom at around 6:15 a.m.  From the Magic Kingdom Park bus depot, it is a 5-10 minute walk to Disney's Contemporary Resort and Chef Mickey's.

If Magic Kingdom Park is not open early enough for this plan, there are often early morning character dining buses which operate for exactly this reason - to get guests to early character breakfasts.  I suggest that you check with a cast member in the lobby at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa a couple of days before your reservation.  Tell them when your reservation is, and they should be able to let you know if there is a bus, and when you would need to catch a character dining bus to get to your reservation on time.

All of this said, I have one more option for you, which is to get a taxi.  This will have a cost associated; however, it will likely be the quickest option.  Simply ask a cast member in the lobby of Disney's Saratoga Spring's Resort & Spa to call a taxi for you and be sure to indicate that you are a party of six.

I hope that this answer gives you some options, Joanne.  Have a wonderful time celebrating your husband's birthday, and please let us know if you have any further questions!
