Disney's Magical Express

My family and I will be staying at Saratoga Springs in May. We arrive at 12:30am and will be taking the Magical Express. Since the resort is so big, does the bus take you directly to your building or do we have to walk from the lobby since it’s so late?

Greetings, Adrian and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!

Adrian, with its close proximity to Disney's Springs and FINtastic pool options, Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa is a great choice for your upcoming stay. In fact, I will actually be kicking off the summer season at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa and am counting down the days until check-in.

Now, Adrian, let's talk about your check-in process since you'll be arriving far later than Cinderella was permitted to be at the ball.

First, as Disney's Magical Express is a separate entity from the Disney Bus Transportation, coming from the airport, you will only make one stop at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. Drop-off from Disney's Magical Express is located by the Carriage House (where you will also find The Artist's Palette and the feature pool). When you arrive, your options to reach your deluxe studio or villa would be to walk or hop on the internal bus system.

Officially Disney Bus Transportation ends one hour after the closing of the latest park or Disney Springs. Currently Disney Springs is open until 10:00 PM on your check-in day. These hours are subject to change, so I would recommend continuing to check THIS PAGE as your vacation inches closer. Adrian, this does mean that there is a very strong possibility that no buses will be running at the time of your arrival.

My best recommendation would be to request a room close to the Carriage House a few days before your trip (if you are not staying in the Treehouse Villas). If you've booked the Preferred Category, you will be in The Springs section (closest to the Carriage House) or the Congress Park section (closest to the walkway to Disney Springs). If you've booked in the standard category, I would request buildings 8501-8836 or 8101-8436 in The Grandstand section, as these are only a short walk from the Carriage House and convenient to a bus stop for the other days of your vacation! Adrian, if you are a Disney Vacation Club Member, you can call into Member Services to make this request. If you are a guest staying on a cash reservation, you can call into the Disney Resort Hotel Reservations line

Finally, Adrian, I encourage you to take a few minutes and explore the interactive map of the resort prior to your arrival. This should help you familiarize yourself with the layout of the property and hopefully make navigating the resort easier!

Adrian, I'll be wishing on a star for you that your check-in process is as smooth as Prince Charming's proposal. Please come on back with any additional questions. Here at planDisney, we love to help dreams come true.
