Welcome back to
planDisney, Chelsea!
It's wonderful to see you here with another excellent question. It sounds like you have an exciting extended family adventure ahead of you. I'd be happy to discuss departure logistics with you.
Bell Services are meant to be used by Guests checking in or checking out of a resort where they are staying. Because
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside is a large property that handles many Guests' luggage, they might not be able to accommodate your bags. I would hate for you to arrive and be turned away, so I recommend stowing your items at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Luggage is not allowed on
Walt Disney World transportation, so you must travel via ride share, rental car, or taxi with your bags at some point during the day. If you want to journey to the airport as a group, I recommend choosing one departure point and meeting there once everyone has retrieved their luggage. Both resorts are about the same distance from Orlando International Airport, so if this is your final destination, select the most convenient meeting place for the whole crew.
I hope this is helpful, Chelsea, and you have a fantastic trip with your family. Depending on your plans for the day, consider ending the vacation with one final, celebratory meal.
Boma - Flavors of Africa at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of my favorite Walt Disney World restaurants. It offers breakfast and dinner buffets, so it could accommodate a midday or evening departure. I also like the idea of a buffet when you have limited time, since you won't have to wait to place a food order and can start filling your plates immediately after sitting down. While you enjoy your meal, you'll have the perfect opportunity to start planning your next Disney getaway! Nothing beats the post-holiday blues like beginning a countdown to another one. Thanks again for writing to planDisney, and we look forward to welcoming you "home" soon!
TTFN - ta-ta for now,
Betsy
