Hello, My family is staying at Port Orleans Riverside for the first time in Sept and I don't know too much about this resort. Is there a certain area that I should request a room? How is the bus system at that resort. Thank you!

    Hi Loren!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel!

Port Orleans Riverside is my favorite Disney Moderate Resort.  I especially love the theming of the resort, especially the Alligator Bayou section.  In fact, if you love nature, definitely request a room in that section.  It is much more rustic looking and the landscaping is beautiful.  There is also a boat service to Downtown Disney which is a lot of fun, especially at night; be sure to check it out!

Port Orleans Riverside is a large resort with several bus stops.  However, I think the other Disney  Moderate Resorts are all too spread out, except for Port Orleans French Quarter which is smaller than Riverside.  It is hard for a guest to be near "everything".  I suggest determining what is more important to you:  being close to a bus stop or being close to the main pool or close to the main building which houses the food court, front desk, store, etc.  Some guests like to specify a specific building and room number, but I think it is more important to explain to the Disney Cast Member who will be handling your reservation what is really important to you.  Thus you might say you want "a room close to a bus stop".  If you go with a specific building number and that building is full, then the Cast Member may not know what you really wanted; if you describe it, I think you have a better chance of getting what you want.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
