Family of 5 staying at POR w/the Disney Dining Plus. We arrive at 11am on a Tues. from Calif. Any recommendations on restaurants for that day either in parks or resorts? Any suggestions on great value QS locations we should include in week long tinerary?

    Jennifer:

Our family loved Port Orleans Riverside!  One of its perks over the other moderate hotels was its access to Downtown Disney via the boat system!  We considered it an extension of the resort--and it had much better dining than the resort.  Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck Express were our favorites for counter service.

I'm a little perplexed why you'd be considering quick service locations, though, when you've got the Deluxe Dining Plan that allows you three table credits a day plus two snacks!  (But I'm pretty budget-minded, and always recommend getting the most of that plan by doing a little pre-planning and making Advance Dining Reservations for table dining and Character Meals.)

However, if your strategy is to double up those credits several special dining experiences and have a need for a few counter locations, here are my picks for value:

Epcot: Sunshine Seasons--lots of fresh choices!
Magic Kingdom: Cosmic Rays for its large portion sizes of rotisserie chicken and ribs.
Disney Studios: Backlot Express simply for its salads and wraps as an alternative to the usual burger.
Animal Kingdom: FlameTree BBQ's great dry ribs.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
