My family will be staying at POR in Sept 2012. We will have an almost 3 year old with us. I am concerned about the buses being almost filled at FQ before going to POR. Is it worth the walk to FQ to ensure a spot on the bus and prevent waiting longer?

    Hi Kelly!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel!

You are visiting Walt Disney World during a relatively quiet time!  You really shouldn't have any problems with the buses from Port Orleans Riverside.  In fact, I think the only problem you might have is when a theme park closes and everybody tries to leave at the same time.  However, Disney almost always adds extra buses at that time anyways.

It is a nice, but relatively long walk between Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter.  It is a little over 15 minutes on average, depending on how fast you walk and where you are trying to get to.  Since buses run about every 20 minutes, you would be better off just waiting at Port Orleans Riverside.

Port Orleans Riverside is my favorite Disney Moderate Resort.  I think you mad a great choice.  Enjoy staying there, and please write back with more questions!
