My family and I will be staying at Pop Century Resort from April 18th-25th. I was wondering if there is any update on the Hippy Dippy Pool -- specifically, will it be back up and running before our visit?

    Hi Shawn,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. You've chosen my family's favorite value resort for your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation. We've stayed at Pop Century dozens of times over the years and always enjoy the amenities and the theming. The resort is now even better with the addition of the Disney Skyliner for quick and easy transportation to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.

When we were last there about a month ago, the Hippy Dippy Pool was under serious renovation, stripped of its decorations and empty of water. Walt Disney World has only said that the renovation will be complete in early spring, though some of the unofficial Disney fan sites are listing March 31 as the target completion time. So I can't give you a definitive date for reopening.

However, I can tell you that we received an email several weeks before our visit, letting us know that the pool would be closed when we arrived. If you have not received a similar email, I think you can be fairly sure that the construction will be complete by the time you check in.

If it isn't, the Computer Pool in the '90s section and the Bowling Pin Pool in the '50s section will be open, and Movies Under the Stars will still go on at an alternate location.

I hope that is helpful, Shawn. Please let us know if you have any other questions about planning your April visit. We're happy to assist. Enjoy!
