My family are staying at Pop Century in July, it's our first time staying here, I need to know if there are elevators to get to rooms that arent on the ground floor as a member of our party has some mobility issues

    Hi Julie,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. It's always nice to hear from guests like you who are loyal fans of Walt Disney World.

Pop Century has been my family's go-to value resort since it opened in 2003. We've stayed there dozens of times, including just last weekend. I have needed an ECV to get around Walt Disney World recently while recovering from an accident. During our stay at Pop Century last week, I had no issues accessing our room on the third floor. (Elevators are located in the center of each building). I navigated onto the bus to Magic Kingdom easily, and riding the Disney Skyliner to Epcot was a breeze.

I even maneuvered my scooter into the Everything Pop food court for my morning muffin and a cup of coffee.

If your family member is considering renting an ECV for your visit, Julie, I suggest getting one from a third-party vendor rather than renting at the theme parks. You will want the mobility assistance in the resorts, and the ones from the vendors are smaller, more nimble and more economical than the theme-park models. I've rented from ScooterBug, the Disney Featured Provider, because they deliver the unit to bell services and you do not have to be present to accept delivery. When you check out, you simply leave the ECV at bell services.

Thanks again for your question, Julie. Please let us know if we can help in any other way as you make your plans for your visit. Enjoy!
