My family is staying off property and driving to WDW. We want to arrive at Magic Kingdom gates first thing as they open. How much time do we need to plan for parking, arrival and buying tickets before entering the park at 9am?

    Hi Sheri!

I would plan to be at the Ticket and Transportation Center (the parking for Magic Kingdom) an hour before the Park is scheduled to open (in your case 8:00 am).  I would recommend that you leave from your off property hotel 20 to 30 min before that (in your case  you would leave your hotel at 7:30 am to 7:40 am).  When you arrive at the Ticket and Transportation Center and park your car, you will have to take a tram to the Ticket and Transportation Center buildings.  Then you will take a Monorail or Ferry Boat to the gates of the Magic Kingdom.  When you arrive at the gates of the Magic Kingdom, you can buy your tickets, go through bag check, and go through the turnstiles to wait for rope drop.  If you are at the gates of the Magic Kingdom early enough, you can see the Magic Kingdom Opening Ceremonies!

I hope that your day in the Magic Kingdom is extremely magical on your next trip to Walt Disney World!
