My family will be staying 1 night at Double Tree Disney Springs and Disney good neighbors hotel and 8 nights at the contemporary in a 1 Bedroom Villa. Can we have our luggage transferred from Double Tree to Contemporary Resort?

Welcome to planDisney Christine, and thank you so much for sending in your question. A split stay like the one you’re planning is a great way to experience different sides of Walt Disney World, and an extended stay at Disney’s Contemporary Resort in a One-Bedroom Villa sounds especially magical.

When it comes to luggage transfer, Disney’s complimentary luggage transfer service is done through Bell Services and is only available between resorts that are part of the Disney Resorts Collection. Since DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Orlando is a Good Neighbor Hotel and not owned or operated by Disney, Disney Bell Services will not be able to transfer your luggage from there to Disney’s Contemporary Resort. This means you will need to make your own arrangements to move your bags on your check out day.

The good news is that the transition is still very manageable. You can take your luggage with you when you travel from the DoubleTree to the Contemporary, whether that’s by rideshare, taxi, or personal transportation. If you arrive at the Contemporary before your villa is ready, Bell Services will be happy to store your luggage securely so you can head straight to the parks or enjoy the resort without carrying everything around. Once your room is available, your bags can be delivered right to your villa.

I always recommend keeping a small day bag with essentials like medications, valuables, and anything your family might need right away, just in case your room isn’t ready until later in the afternoon. If you’d like, you can also check with the front desk or bell staff at both hotels when you arrive, as they can walk you through exactly what to expect and help make your move as smooth as possible.

Christine, I hope this information helps you feel prepared as you finalize the details of your split stay at Walt Disney World. Thank you so much for visiting planDisney with your question and allowing me to help with your planning. Wishing you and your family a smooth transition between resorts and a vacation filled with unforgettable moments, comfort, and plenty of Disney magic.
