My family is staying in a FW cabin at the end of October. One of the adult family members has trouble walking. Can we request a cabin that is close to where Disney transportation picks up people? If so, where is the best place to request a cabin?

    Rhonda:

My suggestion would be to call Disney and put a note on your reservation stating what you've said here: that there is someone in your party with limited mobility, and you'd like to be in a cabin nearest a bus stop.  If I had to recommend a loop at Fort Wilderness, it would be 2100, which is the closest to the Meadows Trading Post and Chip 'n' Dale's campfire singalong. But my guess is that if you're concerned about being near the bus stop, being 200 feet closer to the trading post may not make a difference, as you'll want to take the bus to the campfire, also.

If you really want mobility for your party, let me suggest that you make a reservation for a golf cart (Disney calls them electric carts...) at the fort.  To make a reservation, call 407-824-2742.  Currently, the carts are $59 plus tax a day and you pick them up when you check in at the resort.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
