Hi John!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for your question! How exciting that you will be experiencing a "split stay" on your next Disney vacation! It will be such a unique change of pace to move from the
Walt Disney World Swan Hotel to a tranquil stay at
The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. Plus, staying at two different resort areas will definitely allow you proximity to different Disney parks during the two phases of your stay!
You're in luck John - I spoke with guest services at the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel and they told me that it would be absolutely no problem to have your luggage transferred over to The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, and that the best way to initiate the transfer will be to contact bell services at the original resort during you stay and they will come whisk your luggage and belongings to your second vacation home away from home! This way, you can be free to enjoy the rest of your day as planned, and rest easy knowing that your luggage will be awaiting you when you check into your cabin retreat!
I've never stayed at The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, but my husband recently cruised by in a rented
motorized boat and got a peek at the cabins along Bay Lake and commented that it felt and looked like a remote camping retreat! If you haven't already, check out the
Canoe and Kayak Rentals available right from your resort!
John, I hope this answers your question and eases your mind regarding your upcoming trip logistics, and I wish you the most magical of adventures! Please do not hesitate to come back to see us if we can help you with any more of your vacation planning needs.
See ya real soon!
-Clara
