My family will be staying in a deluxe room at the Grand Floridian in the main building. I have two children (10 and 7). Do you recommend being closer to the atrium/lobby which may be noisy, or further away but where rooms take on odd shapes?

Hi Wendy!  We used to beg for the atrium rooms at the Grand Floridian.  Our family loved to listen to the band or the pianist in the evenings and would prop our door open so that could happen.  But if the doors were closed you could not hear the hustle and bustle from below.

I think it just depends on what is a priority for you. If you like being close to the action then I wouldn't worry so much about the noise as it never affected us when we had rooms there.  The odd shaped rooms can prove interesting but basically in my eyes all rooms at the Grand Floridian are beautiful and spacious and worth the visit!
