My family will be staying at Coronado Springs June 2017. My kids are 10 and 7. When I check in online will I request a building? If so any suggestions?

Hello Kim! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort is right around the corner. Before you know it, you'll lose yourself in the theme of Spanish-Colonial Mexico while the kids cavort in the pool at the base of an Ancient Mayan Pyramid (a margarita in hand, perhaps?).

When you Check-in Online for Disney's Coronado Springs Resort you will be able to select 2 options for choice of rooms. These vary depending on the room view and type.

When my wife and I stayed at Disney's Coronado Springs for the Walt Disney World Marathon, we stayed in building 9A in the Cabanas Section. I wanted this building and area because it was equidistant to the pool area and main building, while generally being quieter than the Casitas Section buildings. The comparable building in the Casitas Section is building 5.

The only section I did not want a room in was the Ranchos section as it was too far from the main building. While Ranchos is the closest section to the pool area, if you want your kids as close to the pool as possible, the building you want is still in Cabanas - section 8A.

When you chose options for Online Check-in, you may choose a section as 1 of your options. The other options are valid in any building found at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, so I recommend picking 1 that is preferable to you.

A few days before your vacation, I would call the front desk at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort at (407)939-1000 or send a fax at (407)939-1001 and request a specific section, building and type of room. Cast Members will make a point of saying that they cannot guarantee you will receive what you want, but it never hurts to ask.

    Good Luck!
