Hello! My family will be staying at the cabins at Fort Wilderness in late August. Is it true that we can order groceries from a nearby Walmart and have them delivered directly to our cabin?

    Hi Neita! Welcome to planDisney!

I'm excited to hear that you'll be visiting Walt Disney World in under a month! I'm sure you and your family cannot wait to arrive and begin a magical stay, filled with unforgettable experiences and lasting memories.

The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort are an amazing place to stay during your upcoming trip. It's the perfect resort to relax and enjoy a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of the parks. I highly suggest renting a golf cart during your stay. Not only is it a fun way to get around, but with the large footprint of the resort, it makes traveling to different areas much easier.

Neita, you'll be happy to know that you can have groceries delivered to Fort Wilderness by many different delivery service options, including Walmart. Groceries will typically be delivered to Bell Services, which is located at the front of the resort near the check-in area. If a signature is required or age verification for alcoholic beverages is needed, you'll need to meet the driver at the front of the resort to handle this. Otherwise, they should be able to leave them with Bell Services until you arrive to pick them up. They will also refrigerate any perishable items as well. Unfortunately, these services are unable to deliver directly to your cabin. You can check with Bell Services to see if they can help with transport, although a small fee may be associated with doing so. If you decide to rent a golf cart, this will be the easiest way to transport your groceries back to your cabin.

One of our favorite family activities to take part in when staying at Fort Wilderness is Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long. This event takes place nightly (weather depending) and is a ton of fun. You can sit around the campfire and roast marshmallows while singing songs with these two iconic Disney characters. Once the sing-a-long is completed, you can stay for the outdoor Disney movie that will play shortly after.

I hope this information helps you plan for your stay, Neita! Stop back and see us again at planDisney!

    See ya real soon!
