My family is staying at the Beach Club Villas and have dinner reservations at Chef Mickey's. Is it possible to walk to Epcot and take the monorail to the Contemporary. We think the kids would have fun riding the monorail versus the bus.

    Hi Colleen,

It IS possible to walk to Epcot and take the monorail to the Contemporary.  You're right, it can be an enjoyable trip, especially if you like riding the monorail.

There are a couple of things to keep in mind.  First, you'll need a park ticket to get in to Epcot.  So, if you don't want to use an admission, then taking the bus is the way to go.  Second, it's a quite a long walk to the monorail station.  You'll enter Epcot through the World Showcase, so you'll need to walk to the front of the park and out the main gate to get to the monorail station.

You'll want to plan at least an hour for travel time.  Or, leave a couple of hours early and ride Spaceship Earth on your way through the park.  That would be a fun way to break up the journey.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
