My family and I are staying at Bay Lake Towers in June and we want to view the fireworks from the Top of the World Lounge. We have young children and want to know the best time to get there to make sure we get access to the lounge?

    Hello, Kevin!

This is a great plan! If you have access to the Top of the World Lounge, located on the 16th floor of Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort (and is available exclusively to "Disney Vacation Club Members who are staying at Bay Lake Tower using their Membership, Guests staying in the room with that member and Guests who are staying in a room reserved by a DVC Member with Vacation Points"), make it a point to get to this wonderful, secluded and truly spectacular lounge at least once during your stay in June.

At the time of this writing, most nights in June have Wishes Nighttime Spectacular scheduled to take place at 10 p.m. The Top of the World Lounge opens at 5 p.m., and remains open until midnight. Depending on the age of your little ones, I suggest that you get to the lobby of BLT no later than 9. More popular evenings might require an even earlier arrival.  The process isn't too time-consuming, but you have to show the Cast Member at the desk (at BLT, NOT at Disney's Contemporary Resort) your Key to the World Card, which shows that you are a DVC Member; you will then be escorted to a reserved elevator, which will take your party to the Lounge.

To find out what's on the menu, check out allearsnet.com, where you'll find an UNOFFICIAL posting of menus from throughout Disney properties. This is an unofficial menu, but it's good to see what might be available to help keep the little ones occupied while you wait for a great show!

While the Lounge is elegant and architecturally interesting your entire family will be able to enjoy themselves once there. For the most spectacular view of Wishes, though, bring the gang out onto the observation deck...and have your video camera ready, because your view will be truly fabulous!

Send more questions as you think of them! I love to help DVC Members find those hidden gems throughout Walt Disney World and DVC resorts!
