We are a family of 6. staying at ASM, Oct 6-13.We may rent a car from MCO.We have reservations on the M exp. WDW says that if we check our luggage and do not board the bus that our luggage won't make it to our room. Should I risk it?

Hi, Darren!   If you do not plan to take the Magical Express, simply do NOT put the yellow luggage tags on your bags and claim your luggage at the baggage carousel (you will be mailed your luggage tags a week or so before your vacation.)    Magical Express clearly states that you cannot book a luggage only transfer, that you need to be on the bus.

Now I have never actually tested the system to see what happens if you don't get on the bus, but I do know that I would not risk it!   If they do end up rejecting your bags, you would need to drive back to airport to get your luggage.   Not a great way to spend your vacation time!

I would hope that you have decided whether or not you will be getting a car before you check your luggage at your home airport.   If you will be getting a car, DO NOT put the yellow tags on.  If you plan to board the Magical Express, put your tags on your luggage before you check them in.  When you arrive in Orlando, head straight to the Magical Express counter on Level 1 - Side B and hop on your assigned motorcoach.   Your luggage will magically appear in your resort room about 3 hours after your arrival.

Hope this all works out for you!
