My family will be staying at the Art of Animation hotel and will be using the skyliner as a mode of transportation. We have a reservation the first day of our stay to Magic kingdom. Will this be a problem connecting from Epcot to MK before 2 pm?

    Hello, Tiffany,

Thank you for sending your question to planDisney.  Disney's Art of Animation Resort is such a fantastic resort to stay at with its iconic Disney movie theming throughout the resort. It has always made me feel as if I have entered into the movies!  And with easy access to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios with the Disney Skyliner, the resort is a great choice.

While I think you have a great plan to ride both the Skyliner and the monorail to go to the Magic Kingdom, it won't work out because you can't Park Hop until after 2:00 PM which means you can't walk through EPCOT to get to the monorail station (the Skyliner station drops you off at the International Gateway; the monorail station is located at the front entrance). I recommend that you use bus transportation to get from Disney's Art of Animation Resort to the Magic Kingdom.

Please know that Disney transportation begins approximately 45 minutes before the theme park opening time, and as a Disney resort guest, you'll be allowed into the theme parks 30 minutes earlier than other guests each day. If you'd prefer to skip the bus, you can also use a ride-share program or taxi cab.  You may also enjoy riding in style by using a Minnie Van, especially since it is your first day.

If you leave the Magic Kingdom after 2:00 PM and have purchased theme park tickets with the Park Hopper option, you can take the monorail to EPCOT and then walk through the park to take the Skyliner back to your resort.  In other words, while you can't use your plan to go to the Magic Kingdom, it may work to leave the park.  You do want to check the theme park hours beforehand to make sure it would work since the Magic Kingdom may be open later than EPCOT.

Wishing you a magical trip! Please let us know if you have any further questions.
